Tartu Biotechnology Park and BioMed SA have been a partner in several European projects in FP7, Horizon, Interreg Baltic Sea Region etc. Tartu Biotechnology Park collaborates closely with biotechnology parks, innovation relay centres (IRCs), clusters, networks and other business support organisations in Europe as well as in the USA and Canada to develop international projects and cooperation links for the benefit of biotechnology SMEs.

Sustainable Food Environment (KISMET)

The main objective of the project is to transform the current unfavourable food systems in cities and regions around the Baltic Sea into sustainability. The project tackles the challenge that local and regional authorities often lack capacity, require new impulses or need innovative solutions for realising more circular and sustainable food environments. Since this target group is key for different fields such as business promotion, health, procurement, food policy or environment, KISMET provides them with concrete instruments and tools for working better with governance, the demand-side and the production side.

BlueBioClusters (BBC)

BlueBioClusters brings together 13 support organizations from 9 European regions, all of them highly engaged in assisting start-ups, companies and policymakers to make the best use of blue innovations. They have joined forces to improve, develop and implement new support tools and methods.

EIT Food

EIT Food RIS aims at strengthening those regions in Europe which are modest and moderate in terms of innovation in agrifood sector. There is currently a network of 13 EIT Food HUBs located in 13 targeted RIS countries, one of which is Tartu Biotechnology Park in Tartu, Estonia. 
Tartu Biotechnology Park’s goal as EIT Food Hub is to promote EIT Food Community activities, to provide the necessary support for local entrepreneurial talent in the food sector and to help to reach the true potential of the local food sector.
