19-22.oktoober: The World Health Summit (WHS) 2014
The World Health Summit (WHS) was founded in 2009 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Charité. Its mission is to bring together stakeholders and decision makers from all health related fields, i.e. academia, industry, politics, and civil society, to establish a unique and sustainable high-level forum and network. The World Health Summit is designed as an open and democratic forum, promoting thought leadership through academic input into the scientific and global health agenda.
The World Health Summit (WHS) 2014 will be held from October 19-22 at the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin.
The program will be structured by four main tracks:
- Education and Leadership
- Research and Innovation
- Evidence to Policy
- Global Health for Development
Central topics will be (among others):
- Climate Change and Health
- Universal Health Coverage
- Physical Activity for Health & Healthy Ageing
The annually held WHS has become the pre-eminent forum for addressing global health issues. It brings together key opinion leaders from academia, politics, civil society, and the private sector to take responsibility in all health related challenges (Vision and Goals >>>).
The WHS enjoys the high patronage of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, the President of the French Republic, and the President of the European Commission.
