These are called the<a href=\"https:\/\/eit.europa.eu\/our-communities\/eit-innovation-communities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> EIT Innovation Communities<\/a> and each is dedicated to finding solutions to a specific global challenge.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ext\" title=\"EIT Health\" href=\"https:\/\/eithealth.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>EIT Health<\/strong><\/a><strong> is one of the EIT Innovation Communities and a consortium of&nbsp; approximately 150 partners from leading businesses, research centres and universities from across 15 EU countries. EIT Health\u2019s role is to build an ecosystem that enables the development of healthcare for the future so that European citizens can live longer and healthier lives.<\/strong> EIT Health upgrades the skills of healthcare professionals throughout Europe, investing in Europe\u2019s best talents, and facilitates the commercialization of innovative health products\/solutions within the EU. It is one of the largest publicly funded health initiatives and is supported by the the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of European Union.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<div  class='flex_column av-2ioe1t-562c2033044a20a4627460b80d3bf80c av_one_full  avia-builder-el-6  el_after_av_four_fifth  avia-builder-el-last  first flex_column_div'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-ljpi9wlm-99d8ecf757d510f8790cbcbbcbd010a3'   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>Estonia is represented by <a href=\"https:\/\/eithealth.eu\/in-your-region\/scandinavia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EIT Health Scandinavia<\/a><\/strong>, the regional representation of Partners located also in Denmark and Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eithealth.eu\/in-your-region\/innostars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The InnoStars cluster<\/a> is one of the seven geographical areas of EIT Health.<\/strong> It covers half of Europe, including Poland, Hungary, Italy, and Portugal, as well as additional regions included in the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme\u2013 the Baltic States, Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece and Romania. This is a group of countries qualified by the <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/growth\/industry\/innovation\/facts-figures\/scoreboards_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS)<\/a> as moderate innovators. InnoStars is focused on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and education in the domain of healthcare, healthy living and active ageing in the region and closing the gap between regions that are leaders in innovation and those regions which are progressing<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eit.europa.eu\/our-activities\/outreach\/eit-regional-innovation-scheme-ris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS)<\/a><\/strong> was created by the European Institute of innovation and Technology (EIT) to close the gap between regions that are leaders in innovation and those regions which are progressing. The programme is implemented with the involvement of local Hubs. In the field of healthcare, the programme has been developing since 2016, and it is coordinated by EIT Health InnoStars. The programme incorporates 13 EIT Health Hubs located in 12 countries across Eastern, Central and Southern Europe. These Hubs serve as access points to a pan-European network of the best universities, companies and their projects. The programme aims to incubate the regions where it operates, discovering their unique innovation assets and to engage local innovators to participate in pan-European programmes and competitions.<\/p>\n<h4>Tartu Biotechnology Park is EIT Health Hub in Estonia<\/h4>\n<p><strong>As part of the EIT Health RIS, EIT Health has already established 13 EIT Health Hubs in 12 countries across Europe, one of which is Tartu Biotechnology Park in Tartu, Estonia.
